3min | July 3rd, 2026

Looking for where to watch Australia v Egypt in Melbourne?

Good news, football fans: pubs across the city are gearing up for one massive early-morning Socceroos FIFA World Cup party.

Following the Victorian Government’s extended trading announcement for venues showing the match, a stack of Melbourne pubs and sports bars will either stay open all Friday night or close and reopen from 3am Saturday, ready for the 4am kick-off.

Whether you’re in the CBD, Richmond, Southbank, St Kilda, Hawthorn, Abbotsford, Coburg, Maribyrnong or South Melbourne, there are plenty of places to catch the Socceroos live and loud with a proper green-and-gold crowd.

Open all Friday night

CBD

Hopscotch | A Southbank favourite close enough to count as CBD for match-day purposes, with a mega screen, TVs throughout the venue and a front-row seat by the Yarra. Go here for a riverside World Cup watch party with easy group energy.

Richmond

Richmond Club Hotel | A Swan Street pub that keeps things simple in the best way: screens, beers, pub classics and live-and-loud sport. A strong pick if you want a proper Richmond local atmosphere.
