Adelaide’s Cosiest Winter Pub Plans

3min | July 1st, 2026

South Australia winter knows how to pull a crowd.

Give us a pub roast, a festive lunch, a glass of mulled wine or a school holiday activity that does not involve turning the lounge room into a craft explosion, and we are in.

This season, The Pass venues across Adelaide, the Hills and regional South Australia are leaning into winter with Christmas in July feasts, drag bingo, family fun days, Sunday roasts and cosy pub lunches worth leaving the house for.

From four-course dining in Coromandel Valley to $25 Sunday roast in Mile End, here’s where to warm up your winter plans.

The Duck Inn, Coromandel Valley

The Duck is doing Christmas in July the way the Adelaide Hills intended, by the fire, with mulled wine, and with four courses doing the heavy lifting.

On Monday 27 July, The Duck’s Christmas in July event brings guests together for a cosy four-course set menu, with a glass of mulled wine on arrival. It’s all very “cancel your plans, we’re staying here”, in the best possible way. Tickets are $85 per person, and bookings are essential.

Hope Inn Hotel, Hindmarsh

Hope Inn is giving Christmas in July a bingo card and a big personality.

Vonni’s Drag Bingo Bonanza returns on Saturday 25 July from 7pm with a Christmas twist, prizes, crowd interaction and plenty of festive chaos. Tickets are $15, which feels like a very reasonable price for a winter night that will almost certainly be louder than your usual Saturday. There’s also another show on Saturday 22 August.

It’s a strong pick for mates who like their cosy pub plans with a bit more sparkle and a lot less sitting quietly in the corner.

The Mile End Hotel, Mile End

The Mile End Hotel understands the winter assignment. Roast. Gravy. Sunday. Done.

Every Sunday from 12pm, The Mile End serves a classic Sunday Roast for $25, with crispy roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and rich gravy.

It’s the kind of lunch that turns a quiet Sunday into a proper winter session, especially if the group chat has been threatening to “catch up soon” since February.

Payneham Tavern, Payneham

Payneham Tavern is covering two very important winter needs, feeding everyone properly and keeping the kids busy.

The Sunday Roast runs every Sunday for $34, with your choice of lamb, beef or pork, plus roasted potatoes, carrots, market greens and gravy. It is classic pub comfort without the part where you have to wash a roasting tray afterward.

Robe Hotel, Robe

For a regional winter escape, Robe Hotel is keeping things classic with a Sunday Roast by the coast.

Every Sunday, the venue serves a classic roast with all the trimmings for $34.50 per person, with limited spots available. Pair that with a wintery coastal wander and you have a very strong argument for making a weekend of it.
