Queenslanders have always had a pretty good grip on the Bavarian beer festival ‘Oktoberfest’, and this year is no different. So instead of dropping a fortune heading to Germany for the real thing, consider a trip to a local pub in Queensland to get your festival fix! Oktoberfest is already well underway on the Sunshine Coast, with Kings Beach Tavern kicking off a two-week celebration from September 19 – October 4. Settle into the beer garden to enjoy giant pretzels, bratwurst, schnitzels and more alongside steins of beer available all day everyday throughout the celebration. The festival culminates in a family-friendly event on Sunday October 4, with kids face painting for the little ones and a stein holding competition for the adults to put their strength to the test for the chance to win a $100 PASS voucher.
